After some time for thought and hmm, more significant research on the topic, I decided that exactly this name would fit best my new photo-shoot series taking place later this month. At first I was thinking about the name “Poltergeist” reminiscent of the famous TV series but then I realized a real poltergeist should be something you can’t really see and it’s more likely to be haunting a specific person than a place. After that I considered a phantom, a ghost, that was more like it but after I learned more about the legends of White Ladies I thought “That’s exactly it! This is how I imagined it!”
I made a summary of the most important parts to give you an idea:
In many traditional accounts, ghosts were often thought to be deceased people looking for vengeance, or imprisoned on earth for bad things they did during life.
White ladies were reported to appear in many rural areas, and supposed to have died tragically or suffered trauma in life. White Lady legends are found around the world. Common to many of them is the theme of losing or being betrayed by someone.
British folklore is particularly notable for its numerous haunted locations.
A White Lady is a type of female ghost reportedly seen in rural areas and associated with some local legend of tragedy. White Lady legends are found around the world. Common to many of them is the theme of losing or being betrayed by a husband or fiancé.
I also think it’s a high time I reveal the beautiful model behind this project, her name is Sian Millard and more of her works can be seen here. So excited to work with her! :)
