If you have a dream, be ready to suffer. Simple as that.
Do you ever get a moment in your life when you feel entirely happy, when everything is in its place and things are settled? I occasionally have those moments and they make me dread, they really terrify me because the life experience proves that it’s all ups and downs and if you are currently high that’s only meaning you can see the point from which you are going to head down. And the more prepared you are for it, the better. I don’t really want this to sound negative, there is some kind of rational calming philosophy to it which being ready gives you.
Anyway, I am delighted with the feedback I am currently getting on my Ichtys (The fisherman’s daughter) project, the support and appreciation of people really gives me inner strength to do better and to continue with developing the project. Also our ‘Spellbound‘ project got published in yet another magazine – ‘Visual Artistry‘ – which is a quarterly publication.
It’s interesting thinking about how photography has transformed me. I used to be the shyest and most insecure creature on Earth but being able to do what I love – art and fashion photography, has helped me build my confidence, meet some extraordinary people and have loads of fun along the way. Of course there are some difficult times, stress and worries but it is totally worth it and I wouldn’t change a thing, it’s all part of the journey. I remember with a smile how I wouldn’t be able to sleep before a shoot and my hands would be shaking of excitement on the day. So you, whoever you are, just remember that persistence counts and today’s frustration is just making tomorrow’s success sweeter.
